When packing your items, keep focused on the following tips:
Pack one room at a time. Start with rooms that are less used. When packing, try to pack similar items together. Secure the box and mark the box with the room name or colour code and a letter that offsets to your checklist of the items you have in the box.
Pack boxes securely so that shifting that could result in damage does not occur.
Do not pack heat sensitive and flammable goods.
Wrap items individually and when packing, place a cushion of tissue paper or bubble wrap on the bottom of the box, between the layers, side and top.
Pack heavy items in smaller boxes and always put the heaviest items on the bottom of the box.
Have an essentials box that has the things that you will need when you arrive at your new home like a change of clothes, hygiene and bath items, telephone, kitchen items, etc.
When packing fragile items, not only bubble wrap, but use your linens and towels to pad the boxes. Always mark the box “Fragile” on all sides.
Drain all fluids from landscape equipment.
Ensure that the box weight is 50 pounds or less.
Keep your box inventory checklist with you and as you unload the boxes and place each in its designated room, mark off the boxes.

Transport your pet in a sturdy, insulated pet carrier that will help ensure temperature control. Do not leave the pet unattended in a hot or cold vehicle.
